Testing.

I haven't made any big purchases lately other than my taxes (boy, do I wish I could get that one back...) so I decided to buy a new chair. The one I've been using I found at a recycle shop for cheap and, not surprisingly, it's cheapness reciprocated with it's level of comfort and durability. Can't believe I sat in it for over 3 years... I like folding my right leg underneath me while I sit and I would practically bruise and shred my outer ankle on the hard plastic seat and wonder why it hurt afterward. Duh! Anyway, the new one is totally awesome. I know - thrilling story, huh?

I turned 32 yesterday. Not so depressing yet but I think 33/34 will be pretty bad. Man, just looking at those pair of numbers... yeesh...

My web guy has informed me that Blogger is changing things and I will no longer be able to update my site using my current setup. Which kinda blows. I like things to be uncomplicated. Anyway, I've got plans to re-design this thing but it may also end up shutting my site down for a little bit. Just so you know.

Otherwise, life is okay. Busy with work and trying to enjoy the warm weather. Finally! I took a whole bunch of obligatory pictures of cherry blossoms and drunk people milling about outside. I'm diligently trying to grow my hair. I had it buzzed for a few months since Xmas but I'm scared it'll end up being a "lifer" cut so I'm trying to be hip and do something with it. This whole in-between phase of growing it out enough to somewhat style it is proving difficult, btw. My hair is thick and coarse so it's poofing out and collecting bits of dust everywhere. Dammit... I wanna move. My place is tooooo small. I'm partial to the neighbourhood, tho, so I'll be sad to leave it. I feel like I've complained about this before. lol

Okay, back to blogging.

It's been cold and it's supposed to be cherry blossom season but it's so freaking cold that I think you'd have to be insane to sit under a tree and get drunk. I'm waiting till it gets a bit warmer, thanks.

I saw proofs of the second Lost Planet installment last night at the publisher's and I'm happy to report it looks great. I'm still trying to find the right halftone settings in photoshop and that can only come through trail and error. Not to get too technical here but the bleeds were all placed right this time and I didn't cut off any of the dialogue balloons. Well, not TOO bad anyway. haha

I've kinda given up on alcohol. Not by choice but through the process of being stupid busy. I get headaches and fall asleep if I drink now. All that awesome tolerance I studiously gained in university... GONE! I'm old and frail!

Finally some good news from me. I've been absent for a reason! The fine folks at Capcom and Dengeki Games Magazine have me working on a Lost Planet comic. The first issue hit stores on Friday as a stand alone comic sold with the magazine but it'll be inserted directly in the back starting next month. It's based on the Lost Planet game but I've been given lots of freedom to create characters and do what I want so it's been very fulfilling. They've been very generous.

Anyway, it looks like I'll be on for a year at least with the possibly of more in the future. I have to survive this first year first, yo. If you live in Japan or happen to find a copy overseas, please take a look.

Soooo, months are flying by. Had to finish off some quick Marvel work, fly home to be an uncle, came back, slept a bit and then went to Disneyland. My last 2-3 weeks in a nutshell. It's exactly how it felt. Bam bam bam! Happy New Year, btw!
