So, things are gettin' crazy again. So crazy that I'm not sure when I should be sleeping. I really need to stick with normal hours. Geez... I blame the new subway line on most of this though. The new Fukutoshin Line opened this past weekend and it's made it a lot easier to fuck off and go party in Shinjuku and Shibuya. 12 minutes to Shinjuku door-to-door! When I chose to live in Ikebukuro I had no idea that such a potential miracle was going to happen. I love this new line, dammit!

I watched Robocop last night. It's been a while so I decided to check it out again and I was not disappointed. For a pretty dated movie it still holds up well. I was surprised. It brought back memories of the Robocop TV show which sucked and the old nintendo game which was awesome. I need to find a ROM of that...

I'm thinking about adjusting the layout of my workspace again. Staring at the same wall for months kinda gets on my nerves and is bad for motivation. I'm also considering getting some plants which I'll eventually kill but I think my place needs some green. Man, I really wish I had a balcony.

Crap. This is turning into a really boring post. I'll have art for next time.

This is something I was working on earlier this year but felt it wasn't coming together so decided to ditch it. I liked the concept and a few stray ideas from it but, ultimately, it's not what I had in mind so it's done. It's set in a near-future-alt-universe which I always seem rely on like a crutch and I think that's pretty much what kept bothering me about it. I have something else in mind now so, uh, gonna keep chugging ahead. Anyway, you can check out my progress below. These are just rough sketches, btw, hence, the lack of backgrounds.

So, I'm almost finished with a large chunk of work. It's always rather anti-climactic after these intensive and furious work weeks and I'm always left with mixed feelings of joy and melancholy. Like you've just ran your heart out and unsure what to do next? Well, I have more pages to draw for something else so that's a null theory but, uh, whatever. You get the point.

I usually do some cleaning after an issue and since today is recycle day for me I decided to organize and sort my papers and plastics that have built up for the past few weeks. They're pretty strict about how things are sorted and disposed of here. I have a colourfully illustrated flyer for how plastic bottles should be cleaned and crushed, while papers should be sorted between cardboard, regular paper and hard bristol type stuff. Not to mention how glass bottles should have their labels peeled off and metal caps removed and seperated. It all sounds pretty bothersome compared to the blue bin dumping I'm used to in Canada but I find it to be a rather soothing process. Deconstructing a big pile of crap into neatly tied and organized bundles tickles my usual disorganized self. It's... cathartic.

Gonna do fun things today. It's raining and a typhoon is nudging ever closer but, meh. I feel like spending money and taking pictures for some reason.

Anybody know of good sites to go to for cheap airline tickets? Preferably catering to travel between Tokyo and Toronto in August of this year. I've been looking but the ones I've found are about $1500 bucks and I'd like to find something a little less painful. $500 bucks of that is purely on gas, btw. It's insane... And here I thought rising gas prices had nothing to do with me.

Spent the last week pretty much at my desk as predicted. It's been a hectic week but it's almost over. Getting a little stir crazy. Need. To. Get. Out.

I watched some old episodes of Initial D last night while working. I'm not a big anime guy but I've held on to these DVDs for some reason. I'm not a big car guy either so my fandom for this property makes no sense to me but I likes it. Speaking of anime, I read that Blade of the Immortal was being turned into one soon which is pretty exciting news. I'm curious to see how they translate Samura's detailed style into animation. The fight scene's will most definitely be mind-blowing, I'm sure.

Anyway, this is all I have to talk about from my lame-o week.
