Thailand was awesome! I guess that's not much of a surprise. I was there for about 6 days and stuffed myself silly while enjoying the freedom of not having to worry about work. The last 6 months have been pretty stressful and it was a timely trip to forget about the continual barrage of deadlines. I love Thai food and this trip only cemented that fact. Man, so good... and cheap!! You can check out pics on my flickr to the right there. My one complaint is that I read and kept hearing how Thai people smile a lot. Well, in Bangkok, not so much. When I
did get a smile it was cuz they wanted to rip me off and it wasn't a nice feeling. Anyway... I would go back in a heart-beat. It seems I went and left at a good time, too. Things are burning over there right now. It's really surreal watching the news and having places pointed out on a map on screen where I'd enjoyed a coffee just a coupla weeks ago.
So, I have no deadlines currently. Not much of anything really. I'm in the process of negotiating work but I've been focusing more on hanging with friends and getting back in touch with people I've been ignoring. Although, not drinking for 6 months killed my tolerance and I've painfully learned how drunk I can get off just a few beers. All that work in uni down the drain...
I picked up an awesome faux-antique box at a
j-furniture store over the weekend. I've put all my drawing pens and tools in it and looks pretty kickass on my desk. Only for 20 bucks, too. It was a steal.
Turning 31 in a week. Oh, man...
